Winamp
Better media player than Windows Media Player. It handles bigger collections of music, has the ability for plugins so it can support unique files and has a lot of skins available. Winamp was bought out by AOL and I know of one feature that was removed once it was, and the feature was to rip music to MP3s. Its still available in the paid versions though.
Songbird
From the people that made Winamp, AOL Media Player and the Yahoo Music Engine. Its rather new but its definately something to keep an eye on.
