The US Army had this game created as a unique way of advertising. The game requires you complete a few single player missions, which mostly train you how to use certain weapons and manuveur through the game. Then you can progress online at various ranks. The game plays more like other realistic type of games (such as CounterStrike), so if you are more of a Quake gamer you might not like this game. Unfortunately its not moddable but the game continues to get new content and patches even though its been out for awhile.
